Condolence Book opens Monday


The Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka said the book of condolence in connection with the demise of Mikhail Gorbachev, former President of the Soviet Union, will be opened for sign at the Embassy
(404 Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7) on Monday (5) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Gorbachev died aged 91 on 31 August. He took power in 1985 and introduced reforms, as well as opening up the Soviet Union to the world.
