Chinese in the North could cause Tamil-India rift – Adaikalanathan

Illankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) MP Selvam Adaikalanathan stated that though he is not personally opposed to development projects in the country, the fact that they are helmed by Beijing in the North could have a detrimental impact on the relationship between local Tamils and India.

The MP made these remarks during a media conference held in Vavuniya yesterday (1).

However, he does not condone the Chinese monopoly in the Northern Province, adding that China should carry out its development work in the North in a way that does not negatively impact the long standing nexus between Tamils and New Delhi.
