President trying to privatise SPC – Jayagoda

Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) Education Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda alleged there is a good chance that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is attempting to privatise the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC).

Speaking to media yesterday (30) Jayagoda said Wickremesinghe appointed a new chairman to SPC as soon as he became the Acting President. He said the individual he appointed as the chairman of SPC was the same person who was the chairman when Wickremesinghe was the Premier from 2015 to 2018.

Jayagoda alleged that Wickremesinghe is providing political protection to his associates. He stressed that the President is playing with the economy of Sri Lanka and also with the citizens’ money.

While claiming that the President was trying to privatise the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, claiming that it is facing huge losses, Jayagoda said that according to the ‘Ranil-Rajapaksa’ agenda the next step might be privatising the SPC stating that they cannot deliver medicine in a proper manner.
