Operations of Lotus Tower in Colombo are scheduled to commence on 15 September, the President’s Media Division (PMD) announced today.
Considered to be the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia, the Lotus Tower was initiated in 2012 and built at a cost of nearly USD 113 million.
A Chinese company granted USD 88.65 million and the rest was borne by the Sri Lankan government.
With the commencement of operations, tickets are available for purchasing at the following prices:
- Locals normal pass : Rs. 500
- Locals unlimited pass : Rs. 2,000
- Foreigners : USD 20
Meanwhile, plans are underway to implement a QR code system as a replacement for tickets in the future.
