Cloudy skies for Southern half of Sri Lanka

The Department of Meteorology says that cloudy skies will prevail over the Southern half of the island due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance surrounding the country.

Most parts of the island will experience showers or thundershowers today (31).

Very heavy showers above 150mm may occur at some places in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and heavy showers about 100mm can occur at some places elsewhere.

Meanwhile, due to its apparent southward motion, the Sun will be directly overhead Kappachchi (Vavuniya District), Tammannekulama (Anuradhapura District) and Uppuveli (Trincomalee District) around 12.10 noon today.
