Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) successfully conducted a weekend full of rugby development programmes in the Southern Province, culminating in the Inter Club Women’s Development 7s Tournament on Sunday 21 August at St. Aloysius Sports Complex in Galle, with the participation of 10 teams. Over 100 players were seen in action, including few National players who toured UK for the Commonwealth Games 2022, adding glamour to the tournament.  

The High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka came forward as the Main Sponsor and Nippon Paint as the Associate Sponsor of the event.

 Major General Umar Farooq Burki, High Commissioner of Pakistan was the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by the Press Attache’ of the Embassy Kalsoom Qaiser. Duroshan Nagahawaththa, Regional Manager of Nippon Paint, was the Guest of Honour.
