IMF delegation to visit Sri Lanka by August-end for staff-level agreement


The Governor of the Central Bank says that a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to visit Sri Lanka by the end of August to reach a staff-level agreement. 

Speaking at a special press conference today (18), he said that after Sri Lanka reaches a staff-level agreement with the IMF the country will start approaching its creditors for debt restructuring.

The Governor pointed out that Sri Lanka’s situation will improve by entering into the said agreement.
