Int’l Youth Day marked in Ampara

With funding from the European Union, the  Addalaichenai Development Society, in collaboration with National Peace Council of Sri Lanka and Helvitas Sri Lanka, conducted series of programmes to celebrate the International Youth Day in the Ampara District. 

The ceremonial unveiling of a sign Board depicting capacity building for community based organisations to prevent ‘violent extremism’ to mark the day was held at the entrance of the Akkaraipattu Police Station, with participation of the members of the District Inter religious Committee and the representatives of   Youth Federation of  National Youth Services Councils in the area  recently.

The OIC of the Akkaraipattu Police Station W.M.S.B. Wijethunga unveiled the plaque. Addressing the occasion, he told the youth to prevent violent extremism. Chief Inspector of Police S.M. Sathah, President of DIRC and ADS I.L. Mohamed Hashim and members of these organisations were also present
