Bens U-15 ‘A’ Team cricketers off to great start

The St. Benedict’s under-15 ‘A’ Team is off to a great start this season. They started their journey with an outright win, and subsequent first innings wins have helped them to secure top ranking in their group.

Many second-year all-rounders bring confidence and strength to the team in all departments. Young Sudeesh Manikya has established another school record by taking five wickets (with a hat-trick) for zero runs in an inning. Middle order batter Trishane Silva is the captain of the team, and the results prove his leadership qualities. Maheesha Tehan, Mario Fernando, Vihanga Rathnayake, Akein Perera, Nirwan Jayathilake and Tharusha Giwan are the other seniors in the side. Many future National prospects could be identified even at this stage under the coaching strategy and training of head coach Sanjaya de Silva.

This team is directed following the Lassalian footsteps under the young visionary leadership of Rev Bro Director Dr Pubudu Rajapaksha, along with an energetic sports-in-charge Rev Bro Dishan Vimukthi and the experienced master-in-charge Darshana.
