India’s Adani Green Energy has been issued provisional approvals for two wind energy projects in Mannar and Pooneryn for an investment of over USD 500 million.
The decision was reached when Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera met with officials of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Sustainable Development Authority yesterday (16) to discuss the progress of renewable energy projects.
The Minister said that 21 of 46 Projects that were delayed due to CEB Act amendments will enter into PP agreements next week.
Further, 26 renewable proposals from EOIs that was given provisional approvals will be expedited with grid clearance and transmission plans.
Meanwhile, other proposals will be evaluated within 30 days.
