Train ticket scammer arrested


An individual who sold a train ticket, to a foreign couple, at a higher price via the internet was arrested on 13 August by the security guards at Kandy Railway Station.

The suspect had sold a railway ticket worth Rs 2,600 to a foreign couple for Rs 7,300. The Police said that the arrested suspect has been handed over to the Kandy Police. The suspect is a 64-year-old resident of Kandy. Another reserved railway pass was also recovered from his possession, Police said.

The Kandy Police are conducting investigations.
