The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) praised the QR code system introduced for fuel allocation.
Addressing the media yesterday (14), MP Harsha de Silva said the QR code system will assist in providing more services to the consumers in the future.
Dr. de Silva praised the steps taken by Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera to distribute the limited stocks of fuel.
“Prevailing issues will not be solved merely by the reduction in fuel and gas queues. The government must take steps to utilise technology in other sectors as well,” he added.
In the meantime, he claimed that the government has not paid attention to the short-term programme presented by the Opposition for the prevailing economic crisis.
He claimed President Ranil Wickremesinghe is yet to present a programme to overcome the economic crisis.
Dr.de Silva said President Wickremesinghe presented a frame work for such programme, however he has not yet outlined what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and a time frame to achieve the goals.
“The SJB formulated a 10-point programme in order to overcome the debts and to rebuild the economy after observing all the relevant factors,” he added.
