Panduka Keerthinanda appointed SLR legal advisor

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) Council has appointed Panduka Keerthinanda as their legal officer at their last meeting held on 3 July 2022.

Keerthinanda was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law to the Bar in 1993. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colombo (1990) and is a Senior practitioner at the Bar, where he has acquired commendable experience in Criminal and Civil Law practice in Sri Lanka.

He has held many high positions in Government as follows.

Chairman, Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority Member of National Sports Council

Legal Consultant to Sports Ministry (2010-15)
Legal Consultant to Ministry of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports.

He has also actively contributed towards implementing the new Sports Laws, such as Convention Against Doping in Sports Act 33 of 2013 and Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports Act 25 of 2019.

Currently he is an advisor to Harin Fernando, Minister of Tourism and Lands.
