The long-awaited Sri Lanka Schools’ Novices Swimming and Diving Meet commences this weekend at the Sugathadasa Indoor Swimming Pool after a lapse of almost two years, offering aspiring swimmers an opportunity to showcase their talent on a national platform.
Organized by the Sri Lanka Schools’ Aquatic Sports Association, the meet is sponsored by Nestlé MILO in line with its ambition of supporting grass-root sports in the country.
Over 5,000 swimmers from schools’ island wide will participate at the meet, which comprise of events under age groups 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20, on the following dates:
Girls: 13th and 14th August
Boys: 19th-21st August
20th August (girls and boys)
The top eight in the under-10 and 12 events will be selected based on qualifying time, while the three winners of under 14, 16, 18 and 20 events will get an opportunity to compete at the 46th Sri Lanka Schools’ Swimming Championship 2022 planned to be held later this year.
Sri Lanka Schools’ Swimming Championship will also be sponsored by Nestlé MILO, helping children excel in the sport they love, whilst nourishing them to perform better.
