President disappointed by JJB’s absence

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has written to Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, expressing disappointment over the JJB refusing to attend the meeting with him in regard to forming an All-Party Government.

The President sent this letter to Dissanayake yesterday (11).

Wickremesinghe said although he received the JJB’s letter on proposals on forming an All-Party Government and the reasons for boycotting the meeting, he was disappointed about the JJB’s absence at the meeting.

The President said he is paying close attention to the issues raised in the JJB’s letter to him, but he regrets that the party refused to attend the meeting.

“However, I hope the JJB will give its fullest cooperation for the national programme to rescue the country from the present crises,” the President said.
