Australia to host first ever 60+ World Cup


Veterans Cricket Australia will host the first ever 60+ World Cup revealed Rod Rice, the President of Queensland Veterans Cricket who is also the tournament team liaison official. 

The 60+ World Cup will be held on the Sunshine,Coast in Queensland from 3 to 16 September with the participation of 12 teams:

Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Wales, Rest of the World, USA, Canada and West Indies.

England have dropped out as it would clash with the finals of the English 60+ County competition. 

As this is the inaugural 60+ World Cup, Sri Lanka team will also include players living in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. 

The inaugural 50+ World Cup was held in Sydney in 2019. The second in Cape Town in 2021 had to be cancelled halfway due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Sri Lanka participated in both editions. Arrangements are being made to stage the next edition in February 2023 in Cape Town.
