CBSL to issue Rs 85B T Bills to repay Rs 66B maturities


Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL), will be issuing Rs 85,000 million worth of Treasury Bills on Tuesday (9) to repay maturing T Bills worth Rs 66,227 million to the market, due on Friday (12. Settlement of the Rs 85,000 million T Bill auction is also on Friday.

However, maturing T Bills held by the CBSL and which repayment is also due on Friday is unknown as CBSL doesn’t make privy such information.  Meanwhile, the splits of Tuesday’s T Bill issuance are Rs 35,000 million 91-day maturities and Rs 25,000 million each 182 and 364-day maturities. And the splits of the maturing T Bill repayments  due to the market by Friday are 91-day maturities (Rs 66,027 million), 182-day maturities (Rs 190 million) and 364-day maturities
(Rs 10 million), respectively.
