Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry underscored the urgent need to revive the joint economic commission for expanding trade and technology transfer between Sri Lanka and South Korea.
Ambassador of Korea in Sri Lanka, Santhush Woonjin Jeong paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Ali Sabry recently at the Ministry.
Both sides exchanged views on deepening bilateral cooperation in a range of areas including political, economic, employment, education, knowledge transfer and people-to-people contacts. Minister Sabry expressed satisfaction at the level of bilateral engagements in the last few years and stressed the importance of carrying through the momentum by consolidating trade and investment partnerships between Sri Lanka and South Korea.
The Foreign Minister also appreciated Korea’s timely consideration to increase employment opportunities for Sri Lankans.
Ambassador Woonjin Jeong assured Korean assistance to Sri Lanka.
