St. Aloysius beat Vidyaloka on Parabola method


St. Aloysius beat Vidyaloka by 62 runs according to Parabola method in their 2nd annual limited over cricket encounter ‘Glory of Galle’ at the Galle International Cricket Stadium last Sunday. Match was delayed and reduced to 49 overs per side.

St Aloysius’ won the toss and batting first scored 200 runs for 9 wickets. Dineth Nimsara scored 40 runs. Induwara Udena (32), Charya Yasara (26), Kalana Pathum (24) and Vidura Lakshan (24) helped to build their innings. Nimesh Aavinda claimed 3 wickets for 24 runs.

Due to rain, Vidyaloka was set a target of 146 runs in 28 overs, and were able to score only 84 runs for 4 wickets. Lindula Nuwanga scored 27 runs and Dulmina Dasun claimed 2 wickets for 25 runs.

Kulatunga Rajapaksha, Chairman of DSI Group, participated as the Chief Guest. Anura Gamage, Principal of St. Aloysius and Prasanna Senevirathne, Principal of Vidyaloka also took part in the awards ceremony.
