Navy finds Rs 14M worth KG in Mannar Sandbanks

The Navy seized Kerala Cannabis (KG) worth over Rs 14 million during a special search operation at the Mannar Sandbanks on the evening of 2 August.

The consignment was disguised in 19 packages and had been buried in the area by smugglers. The KG weighed about 47.2 kg (wet weight).

The drugs were found by SLNS Thammanna in the North Central Naval Command, and it is believed that the smugglers might have concealed this stock of KG underground in a hurry due to the naval operations in the area.

The drugs are being kept in naval custody until it is produced for onward legal action.
