Dhaniz Ali, who is accused of forcibly entering the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) premises on 13 July, has been further remanded until 15 August.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe issued the order. The Magistrate also cancelled the identification parade, which was scheduled for yesterday (1), saying there is no need for an identification parade as the incident was seen by the entire country live on SLRC.
A decision on the bail application filed by Ali will be announced on 15 August, the Magistrate said.
Activist Dhaniz Ali is a 31-year-old resident of Webada, Kurunegala. He was arrested last week on board a flight at the Bandaranaike International Airport, while attempting to leave for Dubai.
Ali has been charged with disrupting broadcasting operations, damaging public property and assaulting Security Forces personnel.
