Science shock Peter’s 12/10
Science College ended the season on a high note when they edged out the Peterites 12/10 in Ratmalana last weekend.
At the short breather it was the lads from Bambalapitiya who led 10/5.
Peterites displayed good rugby in the initial half scoring 2 tries through Vishenka Silva, but coming into the latter half they were lethargic and continued to make mistakes, which cost them the game. They had a Yellow Card offence on their second rower Charupa Cooray, which gave the Science lads an opportunity to creep into the game. Kaluarachchi scored the first try for the Mt. Lavinia lads.
After the turn around Science dominated and took full control of the situation. Peterites lost two more players for Yellow Card offences and taking advantage of the situation Science scored a try through S Aloka, with Kaveesha adding the extra 2 points.
During the last 5 minutes Science, too, were shown 2 Yellow Cards, but the dejected Peterites failed to capitalize.
