The bullish run continued at the Colombo Stock Exchange for the second consecutive session on Thursday (28), with the benchmark index recovering on a relatively lower turnover with continued foreign entry into the Colombo Bourse.
The benchmark All Share Price Index, which started the day at 7,626.69 points on Thursday (28), gained 0.69 per cent (52.95 points) to close the day at 7,679.64 points.
The S&P SL20, representing the top 20 companies traded on Colombo Bourse, which started at 2,409.12 points, gained 0.86 per cent (20.76 points) to close at 2,429.88 points.
The Colombo Stock Exchange saw a daily turnover of Rs 1.04 million on Thursday (28), higher than Rs 1.01 billion recorded the previous day.
The Colombo Bourse witnessed a foreign inflow worth Rs 23 million on Thursday (28) as foreigners purchased shares worth Rs 38 million, as against sales worth Rs 15 million.
More than 56 million shares changed hands on Thursday (28) during 16,333 trades that took place.
Shares of more than 240 companies were traded during the day, of which 101 emerged as winners ahead of 69 losers.
