National Fuel Pass to be enforced today


The National Fuel Pass will be enforced at multiple CEYPETCO and Lanka-India Oil Corporation (LIOC) fuel sheds across the island today (26).

While both the last digit of the number plate system and the QR system will be implemented till 31 July, Minister Kanchana Wijesekera noted that only the QR system will be in place from 01 August.

Meanwhile, all three-wheelers are required to be registered at their respective area Police Station before 31 July, while all users of garden equipment, generators & other related equipment requiring fuel need to register their requirements in their respective Divisional secretariats.

Both, three-wheeler drivers and users of fuel-consuming equipment are also required to nominate one fuel station before 31 July.

Those who are unable to register their vehicles with the chassis number will be able to register with the revenue license from Friday (29), while users of 49CC bikes have to register with the Department of Motor Traffic to obtain their licenses & register with the National Fuel Pass system.
