Don’t transfer State employees over 60s – Loganathan

All Ceylon Government General Employees Union (ACGGEU) President S. Loganathan yesterday (25) said he has written to Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath requesting her to consider the possibilities of excluding the persons who are above 60 years in the mandatory annual transfer of employees.

Loganathan added that the retirement age limit of State sector employees has been extended to 65 and the circular with regard to this has also been sent to offices.

Loganathan pointed out such employees are unable to travel long distance and most of them are suffering from various health conditions

Hence, the State sector employees who are above the age of 60 must be allowed to work in their current offices, Loganathan added.
