LPBOA to increase running fleet


Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) has decided to increase its operation by deploying 5,000-6,000 buses in to operation in view of opening of the schools, today (25).

LPBOA president Gemunu Wijeratne said, it is a problem to deploy a large number of buses, but he noted that the Ministry of Energy promised to provide 50 per cent of the fuel provided to the SLTB to private buses by managing the existing fuel reserve.

He said that when they mentioned that there are no nearest depots in all areas of the country and in such cases they should prepare a suitable procedure. The minister had assured them that a dedicated fuel station in each town would be provided.
