‘People’s Lawyers’ vow to protect protesters

Attorney-at-Law Senaka Perera of the People’s Lawyers organisation said his organisation, which stands for the rights of protesters, will not allow anyone to forcibly get protesters to be mired in constitutional deadlocks.

He stated his movement was working day in and day out standing for the protection of civil rights of the protesters countrywide.

He noted that they were ready to represent all types of protesters who have been harassed, oppressed or assaulted by the current regime.

Perera added that during the past 90-day period they had stood for such people throughout the country sans any financial gain and stressed that they will continue to work for them in the future as well.
