The Ministry of Power and Energy has decided to revise retail prices of fuel, including petrol and diesel, with effect from 10:00 p.m. yesterday (17).
As a result, the price of Octane 92 Lanka Petrol was decreased by Rs 20 per litre, Octane 95 Lanka Petrol was decreased by Rs 10, and the new price of Octane 92 Lanka Petrol is Rs 450 and Octane 95 Lanka Petrol is Rs 540.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation also reduced the prices of Lanka Super Diesel by Rs 10 and Lanka White Diesel by Rs 20, bringing the revised price of Lanka Super Diesel to Rs 510 and Lanka White Diesel to Rs 440.
The Ministry made the announcement yesterday.
It claimed that a formal programme has been prepared to continually deliver Lanka Petrol 92 Octane and Lanka White Diesel to consumers beginning 21 July, 2022. As a result, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation requested the customers to refrain from congregating near petrol stations and avoid queuing on both sides of the road.
Meanwhile, Manoj Gupta, Managing Director of Lanka IOC, said that they will follow the CPC’s fuel price cut, and the revised prices came into effect from 10 pm yesterday.
