HRCSL urges peaceful transfer of powers

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) says that measures should be taken towards a peaceful transfer of power within the Articles of the Constitution.

Issuing a media release the HRCSL has stressed that all MPs should abide by the Constitution when striving to select the next President to serve out the remainder of the term of office of the ousted President.

They have stated that if lawmakers were to abide by the Constitution the rest of the world will also accept Sri Lanka as a country that abides by all democratic norms of Governance.
