Sri Lankan Men’s/Women’s National Rugby Teams who are gearing up for the Commonwealth Games in UK, were challenged with 2 days of high-altitude body conditioning and team building endurance training on top of worlds end mountain range.
Both teams were challenged with team building activities learnt in the 1st and 2nd stages.
Day 1 teams had to trek 6 kms uphill carrying personal baggage to reach the mountain top. Uphill endurance sprints carrying buddies and cold water-based activities in outdoors in chill climate were experienced.
Day 2 commenced at 5.30 a.m. with physical training in cold windy climate conditions, after which players were exposed to question/answer presentation by former national player Duminda de Silva.
Outbound Adventures with Shehan Pilapitiya designed and facilitated the course with zero injury record in all 3 stages.
The players were full of praise as they mentioned the learning experience gained will be useful on the field as well as their personal life, too.
Everything was made possible mainly through sponsors Nippon Paint, Signature, Webxpay, Truedigital and Sri Lanka Tuskers, backed by World Rugby and National Olympic Committee.
