SLFP will decide on NCM against Acting President – Dayasiri

General Secretary of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Dayasiri Jayasekara said a decision as to whether a no-confidence motion (NCM) will be brought against Prime Minister and Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be made today (15).

He observed that a discussion in this regard will be held prior to the Party Leaders’ meeting scheduled for today adding that Speaker will also be requested to summon Parliament.

Jayasekara noted that Wickremesinghe has no mandate and also failed to secure sufficient votes during the elections adding that he has not yet been challenged due to which a NCM is vital.

He further stated that the only solution to the ongoing protests in addition to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stepping down is to bring a NCM against Wickremesinghe.
