The protesters who occupied the President’s House in Fort, the Presidential Secretariat, Temple Trees and the Prime Minister’s Office on Flower Road, Colombo handed over the buildings to the authorities yesterday (14).

Addressing a media briefing, activists representing the GotaGoGama said they decided to peacefully withdraw from the buildings to protect the peace in the country.

They, however, said they will continue to occupy the front gate of the Presidential Secretariat/old Parliament and the Galle Face Green until their demands are met.

The protesters occupied President’s House in Fort, the Presidential Secretariat, the Temple Trees and the Prime Minister’s Office following the mass protest on 9 July. They occupied the PM’s Office on Wednesday (13).
