Interim Govt should prioritise pharmacies – AIPPOA

The proposed Interim Government will hopefully prioritise the pharmacy service in the country, the All-Island Private Pharmacy Owners’ Association (AIPPOA) said.

AIPPOA Chairman, Chandika Gankanda yesterday (12) lamented that conditions in private pharmacies have deteriorated with depleting stocks of medicinal drugs.

Gankanda alleged that in addition to the prevailing fuel crisis and limited transportation, the delays caused by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), too has severely affected pharmacies.

He said re-registration of pharmacies is being delayed by the NMRA.
