Gunawardena calls on Japanese Embassy

Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena visited the Japanese Embassy yesterday (12) to express his condolences on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki also joined Gunawardena when the condolence note was penned.

The Ministry of Public Administration declared yesterday (12) as a Day of National Mourning in Sri Lanka as a mark of respect for the former Japanese Prime Minister.

Abe was shot dead on 8 July while delivering a speech in Nara Prefecture, Japan.
