Indian HC hands over 44,000MT of urea


A stock 44,000MT of Urea supplied under the Indian Credit Line arrived in the country yesterday (10)

In a statement, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said that the High Commissioner met Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera  and informed him about the arrival of more than 44,000MT of urea supplied under a credit line extended by Sri Lanka to India.

The High Commissioner said that this latest assistance by India symbolises India’s continued commitment to support the people of Sri Lanka, including farmers and bolster the efforts for food security of the country’s citizens.

Meanwhile, Amaraweera said he would resign from the post after officially accepting the fertiliser.
