LIOC to suspend fuel distribution ahead of mass demonstrations

The Lanka-Indian Oil Company (LIOC) has decided to suspend the distribution of fuel to all LIOC sheds, in view of the upcoming mass demonstrations.

Accordingly, fuel distribution for all LIOC fuel sheds will be suspended today (08) and tomorrow (09) as a safety measure ahead of the public anti-government protests scheduled to take place on both days.

LIOC will, however, continue to distribute to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and other industries, LIOC’s Managing Director Manoj Gupta assured.

He further noted that despite several media reports that LIOC will suspend the distribution of fuel till 11 July, no such decision has been implemented.
