St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have announced their overseas signings for the 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), with Wanindu Hasaranga and Dewald Brevis headlining their selections.
Hasaranga, a spin-bowling allrounder, has made 38 T20I appearances for Sri Lanka, scoring 382 runs and taking 62 wickets, and impressed during the 2022 Indian Premier League, taking 26 wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He is currently 10th in the ICC T20I allrounder rankings and sixth in the bowling rankings.
The Sri Lankan will miss the first part of the season, with Pakistan Under-19 international Qasim Akram deputising for him.
South African batter Brevis also enjoyed a successful IPL, lighting up Mumbai Indians’ poor campaign with 161 runs at a strike rate of 142.47. The pick of his performances came against Punjab Kings when he scored a 25-ball 49.
Fellow South African Dwaine Pretorius, a bowling allrounder, and 18-year-old Izharulhaq Naveed, who represented Afghanistan at the Under-19s World Cup in the Caribbean earlier this year, have also been recruited by the Patriots.
