Colombo tops with 9,273 dengue cases


The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) in a media release stated that in the past week, 75 health divisions have been identified as high risk areas.

Among them are Padukka, Kesbewa, Matale, Rathota, Ambalangoda, Ambalanthota, Baddegama, Weligama, Tangalle, Tissamaharama, Ehaliyagoda and Kalmunai.

According to data collated by the NDUC thus far, 36,354 cases of dengue have been detected this year whilst the largest number of cases standing at Dengue cases have been reported from 5,040 (Gampaha), 3,566 (Kalutara), 2,418 (Kandy), 2,241 (Galle), 1,807 (Jaffna), 1,702 (Ratnapura), 1,410 (Puttalam) and 1,385 (Kurunegala).
