Opposition stages protest in Parliament, session adjourned


Today’s Parliamentary session was adjourned for 10 minutes after the Opposition staged a protest against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, demanding his resignation.

A tense situation broke out when members of the Opposition began chanting ‘Go Home Gota’ during Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe’s speech during today’s morning session.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena then adjourned Parliament for 10 minutes.
