ODC’s Sea Vision third phase training concludes successfully


The third phase of Sea Vision training (Executive Course) conducted by the Office of the Defence Cooperation (ODC) of the Embassy of the United States to Sri Lanka, successfully concluded at Navy Headquarters on  Wednesday (29 June 2022), Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) said recently.

Sea Vision is a web-based maritime situational awareness tool that enables users to view and share a broad array of maritime information to enhance maritime operations, maritime security and build partnerships within the maritime community, SLN said.

SLN, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Merchant Shipping Secretariat and Airport and Aviation Services of Sri Lanka officers/officials participated in this third segment of such a training programme, it said.

Accordingly, the Operator Course for Sea Vision operators (20- 24 April), Analyst Course for Sea Vision operators (20- 24 June) and Executive Course for officials in decision making level (27- 29 June) were conducted successfully before the fourth and final Train the Trainer Course, which is scheduled to be held  this month (July 2022), SLN said.

The training modules were conducted by US trainers of the Sea Vision Technical Assistance Field Team and certificates were distributed to the participants on successful completion, it further said. (PA)
