The prevailing windy condition is expected to enhance in the western and southern sea areas and in the southern half of the island further due to the active Southwest Monsoon condition.
Showers will occur today (02) at times Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Several spells of showers will also occur in Western and North-Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, while showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Hambanthota district during the afternoon or night.
Meanwhile, strong winds about (50-60) kmph can be expected at times in the western slopes of the Central hills, Western and Southern provinces.
The Department of Meteorology adviced the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
