SJB MP Dr. Harsha de Silva warned that if there is no responsible third party it would be difficult to obtain the desired amount of loans for the country from the IMF.
He stated that though Sri Lanka has attended IMF sessions 16 times previously this time the picture it faced was much different.
He stated the change lies in the necessity for a responsible third party to be engaged in the process of seeking the IMF loan.
The SJB MP added that the third party, which he has mentioned, refers to those that had provided loans to Sri Lanka.
Dr. de Silva noted that it is imperative that Sri Lanka hold talks with those that has provided loans to the country with the aim of cutting off much of those loans or else it would be impossible to seek fresh loans from the Washington-based money lender.
