Four protesters arrested at Chatham Street

Police arrested four protesters at Chatham Street, Colombo yesterday (29). President of the United National Self-Employed Businessmen’s Association, Pradeep Charles, is among them.

Police closed Chatham Street using barricades due to the protest organised by the United National Self-Employed Businessmen’s Association.

Meanwhile, Flower Road in Kollupitiya was also closed to traffic because of a protest march towards the Prime Minister’s Office, which was organised by health trade unions.

Trade unions of eight services in the health sector launched a two-day token strike yesterday to protest the acute fuel shortage.
