JJB says ready to take over Govt

The Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) says it is prepared to take over the Government in a bid to find a solution to the current crisis, if given the opportunity to appoint a Cabinet of their choice, in the current Parliament.

JJB Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake claimed his party can bring about solutions to the crisis and save Sri Lankans.

He was speaking at a JJB-organised protest rally in Anuradhapura on 26 June, under the theme ‘Let’s oust the Government and take to the streets’. The march began at Anuradhapura Market Junction and proceeded to the Anuradhapura new bus stand, where the protest rally began. In his address to the gathering, he said the current Government lacks the mission or vision for resolving the situation in Sri Lanka, and as a result, the entire country is facing disaster.

“Ranil Wickremesinghe is an apathetic ruler. They have no feelings for the citizens of the country. Anyone who believes the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank can save us from this crisis is mistaken. When a country is in danger, only its citizens can save it from all of its troubles. As the JJB we are ready to take up on the responsibility of saving our country from the current crisis.  If the President and the Premier is ready to hand over the country tomorrow we are ready to take over and rebuild the country,” he added.
