Public sector work-from-home facility extended

The work-from-home facility for the public sector has been extended until further notice.

Given the difficulties that the public face in transportation on a daily basis, top officials were asked to follow the Circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

It was said Secretaries to Ministries, Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Heads of Institutions were instructed to invite employees to their positions in accordance with a circular until further notice to provide more space for essential services.

Thus, it was said the initiative to call only the minimum number of staff who are necessary for the organisation’s day-to-day running without interruption, and to allow officers to stay at home whenever possible and to obtain their services online remains in place.

Furthermore, this should not be a barrier to the continuation of critical Government services.
