Two people have succumbed to burn injuries after a fire broke out in their house in Kahatuduwa.
According to the Police in the night of 25 June four persons – the father, mother and their two children were admitted to hospital after a fire had broken out in a room of the house.
The family had been rushed to the Homagama Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo General Hospital.
The deceased were identified as the mother 35-year-old and the father 47- year-old residents of Kahatuduwa.
The two children, a 19-year-old is currently being treated at the Colombo General Hospital and the other a 4-year-old is being treated at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
