IMF delegation calls on President


An International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Friday (24).

The meeting took place at the President’s House in Fort.

The delegation will remain in Sri Lanka for a week to study at length the policy and issues relevant to reaching a staff level agreement about Sri Lanka. They briefed the President on the discussions with the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and other economic authorities and experts on the present situation.

The delegation said they look forward to assisting Sri Lanka in this difficult time in line with IMF policies.

The President elaborated on the present economic situation and thanked the IMF for their support.
