A 28-year-old man was killed in a melee, sparked by a family dispute, in the Pulmude area of the Trincomalee District on 22 June, Pulmude Police said.
According to Police, the victim was identified as A.G. Satham, a resident of the Arafath Nagar. He was attacked by his brother-in-law with a sharp object on the night of 20 June.
The critically injured victim was rushed to Pulmude Division Hospital and transferred to the Trincomalee District General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on 21 June night.
The body was handed over to family after the inquest. Pulmude Police are conducting further inquiries in this connection.
