Another fuel queue death


Another person, who had been waiting in a queue to obtain fuel, at a filling station at Batagoda in Galapotha, passed away yesterday (23).

The deceased had gone to the filling station to obtain fuel for a tipper truck engaged in transporting rubber and had been in the queue for five days.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old W. Sunil, a resident of Ahangama.

Police said that while waiting to obtain diesel he had passed way.

According to the Police, the tipper truck had been parked for over five days to obtain diesel while drivers had changed during that time period.

Police said the tipper truck belongs to the Ukwel Kanda Rubber Factory of the Bulathsinhala Police Division.

With this death, at least ten Sri Lankan, a majority of them being senior citizens, died this year while waiting in fuel queues.
