A four-member high-ranking Indian delegation arrived in Sri Lanka earlier today (23), to hold bilateral talks regarding the assistance provided to Sri Lanka by India.
The delegation, lead by Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, comprises of Indian Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth, Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran and Joint Secretary of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) Kartik Pande of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
The officials called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and are due to meet several other senior officials and politicians to discuss Sri Lanka’s economic crisis and potential further financial assistance.
The delegation is set to travel back to India at 06:00 pm today.
